he's so happy

this is one very happy,
smiling knitting companion.

soon we'll have photos of what he's helping to knit with.
in the meantime, a view of smiling dog
from the summer time.

friday ...

"Boldness has
genius, power and magic.
Engage, and the mind grows heated.
Begin, and the work will be completed."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

the photo of the flowers was taken
exactly six months ago, in my garden.
Happy St. Patrick's day.

tale of the tall white flowers

The charming paperwhites
are growing taller by the moment.

They look so fresh and lovely.

However, their aroma is not appreicated here.
They are by far,
the most pungent paperwhites I have ever had.

I keep trying to find a spot for them so that I can
still admire them, yet not be offended by their
strong perfume.

(or as my chum asked: " What's going bad in here ? ")

How can something so winsome smell so offensive ?
I have never known these flowers to be so ....
whiffy.

start of the blooms

Paperwhites with a background of snow.

the ides of march

it's quite cold here in
Montreal this morning.
The knitting companion is in a very cuddly
sort of a mood today.
We're both hoping to see some
new mohair later today.

Blissful brother

Here, for you,
is the knitting companion's brother.

I am quite sure he was looking at the camera, wondering
why no one is petting him.

He likes running for a ball, watching for the paper boy,
wrestling with his brother and eating french bread.
He loves to be read to, spoken to, and sung to.

in case you ever wondered ...

Here is the knitting companion
after a wonderful day of

guests, time with his brother
and over all Joyful Dog Excitement.

just in case you've ever wondered how tired that
can make someone, this photo is for you.

definitely pink

the African violets on my kitchen windowsill
are very happy. Like "k" said in the comments,
there is something really special about having
flowers in the house. Plants add a special serenity
to things.

Now, if only my snake plant could get
its groove back.

the Forecast for this week...

Thanks to Georgia Nicols,
i bring you this week's "all signs"
scoop:

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday March 12, 2006

All Signs: (Eastern Time Zone)

This week stars off edgy. (Mars square Uranus.)
Then a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo occurs on
Tuesday with some pleasant planetary aspects.
But just as we start to breathe easier,
the Sun squares Pluto
and Mercury squares Mars.

Yikes! People will squabble about
anything from the last piece of
cake to who gets the remote.
Meanwhile back at home page,
Mercury continues to be
retrograde for all of March.

(Bad time to buy transportation
and start anything new.)
We all need good coping skills.
(Remember: two rights don't
make a wrong; but three rights do make a left.)
